About Rideau Insurance Service Ltd.
Rideau Insurance has been operating in the Westport, Rideau Lakes area since the 1950’s. Archie Rice purchased the company from Hilda Orser in 1963 and incorporated in 1967 and thus, Rideau Insurance Service Ltd. was born. Through the acquisition of other area brokerages two offices were formed. Archie moved the main office to his hometown of Westport, Ontario and continued to keep an office in Elgin, Ontario. In 1996, two of Archie’s sons, Jeff and Scott agreed to purchase the brokerage and continue to operate it today.
